Scholarships

The Connelly Scholars Program was created as an extension of John and Josephine Connelly’s educational philosophy. Then-President Josephine Mandeville created two scholarship programs—one that rewards academic excellence and the other that recognizes students who best demonstrate the lived values of Catholic education and promote a spirit of service and scholarship in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Neumann Scholars Program
Initiated in 1995, the Neumann scholarship program identifies academically talented 8th-grade students in the parochial school system through an examination administered by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and provides four-year scholarships to attend an Archdiocesan high school. The Neumann Scholars program commemorates Saint John Neumann, the 19th-century bishop and educator, who founded the Catholic school system in Philadelphia. The Connelly Foundation does not accept or review applications for scholarships.
